Scott Pilgrimage

For me Toronto is sort of mapped out via relative connected spaces. Those who have read the Scott Pilgrim series know that its based out of Toronto, and includes a many number of well known Toronto locations. Many of which are in my neighbourhood, St Clair West.

Casa Loma, Hillcrest Park, The Goodwill, Knives’ School, Second Cup, The Baldwin Steps, The Wychwood Library, etc.

When I first moved to Toronto, having been a long time fan of the series, this is actually how I began to navigate the city and quite a few of the locations are still favourite spots. There’s this kind of shared history tied to them thats part pop culture and part personal experience.

If you’re interested in finding your way about the city in the same way here is a bit of a guide to help you along the way…

You will also find some location street views as well as a Foursquare map below!

Scott & Wallace’s

27 Alberta Ave –  This is where Scott and Wallace shared an apartment based on the mailing address.

65 Alberta Ave – This is the building that inspired their place in the books. In the 2007 google maps photo below you can actually still see the regular entry door that has sine been replaced by a garage door.

Scott Pilgrim, it’s characters and story are all the property of Bryan Lee O’Malley. Buy the books through your local comic shop or through Oni Press, which publishes the volumes.
